Quarterly Business Meeting

July 19, 2009

Meeting called to order by Steve Crum at 6:10pm

 

The financial report was presented by Steve Crum.

            Motion to accept minutes as presented

OLD BUSINESS:

 

A discussion was held regarding how we wanted to define “quorum” and wording in our constitution so that we may have the right number of members present to have votes.

            A motion was made to change the constitution to say “A quorum for all business meetings is defined as no less than 10 members present, and there shall be no less than 3 postings of the meeting in which voting will take place so that all members have a fair chance to be available for all votes.”

A motion was made to vote on an amendment from the last business meeting to change the following in our constitution;

            All references to the word “Elder” will be changed to “Deacon” and all references to the word “Deacon” will be changed to “Trustee”.

Chip Greene reported that the Deacons continue to work on changing our constitution back to its original state from the changes made last year.  They are also consulting with the BGC on this matter.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Linda Maus asked why we still have no sign to promote our services out front.  Pastor addressed the fact that we have to follow certain restrictions from the township on what kind of sign we can put up, and that we will be having a fundraiser to do this soon.  Miss Eunice suggested a temporary ‘sandwich style” board with information to be put out front JUST on Sundays – this idea seemed well received

 

John Geer asked about the status of the Daycare.  Tricia gave a brief report for Karen highlighting the fact that we only have 6 kids signed up for pre-school at this time. Judy Greene suggested that Karen put together a flyer for us to give out a VBS for open enrollment.  Tricia will pass that information to Karen.  John Geer asked Tricia to have Karen put together a list of her challenges at this point and present them to the Trustees at the regular August meeting- Tricia will pass along the message to Karen.

 

Much discussion was held regarding the playground and there is still a strong consensus that it must be fixed properly for the safety of our children and also for the reputation of the daycare as a daycare that meets all state requirements. This will be an ongoing discussion
